National Treasures

I read in a poll today that a cup of tea is number 6 on a list of the top 10 national treasures in Britain (who makes up theses things), it talked about how at home or abroad us Brits love our cups of tea. This reminded me of a funny( well funny now, not at the time) thing that happened to my friend's parents a few years back.

They were off for a trip to Australia to celebrate their retirement and were stopping off in Singapore on the way over for a couple of days. The Dad was fond of his cuppa and not wanting to do with out took some teabags with him to have in Singapore. Now thinking they would be wanting a cuppa quite quickly he decided to carry several teabags in his binocular case so they would be readily available.

Yes you've guessed it, whilst checking his belongings these tea bags were discovered and he was whisked away for a more thorough search!. All OK in the end, but I'm sure you can imagine his wife's horror, not to mention his embarrassment. Needless to say he has never taken tea bags on holiday again since.
